It was a sunny afternoon, we were sitting on the Upper West Side at the Boat Basin when we decided to start what we now call - a culinary speakeasy. We thought Manhattan lacked a place where mutual friends (or friends of friends) could relax in cozy space, meet new people, and eat a home-cooked meal. We share a passion for cooking and entertaining and thought this would be the perfect venue to do both. So, we decided to lean on our traditional Southern roots and create a modern version on the food we grew up on, thus homeslice came to life.

We started small, asking our friends to volunteer their apartment to host a dinner party.   From there, we've traveled to venues throughout the city, hosting both private parties and our own dinner events -- creating a unique dining experience for those who attend.
